More Trading Stations. Orbital Station 'Delta'. Created by Malmhrid. As an answer to the need to protect objects of value without tying up combat ships, the Trans-Neptunian Fleet deploys Orbital Stations.Produced by Keen Software House, Space Engineers is a remarkable sandbox game that allows player to build incredible things in space, asteroids, moons, and on various planets.
This is easily the largest build on the list coming in at a whopping 3. The creator says it was inspired by the Ringworlds from Stellaris and not Halo. It took approximately 40 hours and requires at least 12 GB of ram to render. The biomes were cleverly created with various non organic materials and the whole thing has functioning gravity.
According to the creator it is entirely operational allowing the player to process and store materials while driving around. Sometimes the best builds are ones that focus on functionality rather than aesthetics, though the industrial feel is nice. The creator says it was designed to serve as a Safe Zone Station or a hub for multiplayer servers. The Eve Online Service Station is an example of how video game structures from other games can do well in Space Engineers.
Resembling either a Gallente or Caldari structure, this station is entirely functional being able to dock a large number of small ships. Built by someone who was very irritated by the wolves in survival, the Cliff Factory is a rugged station that clings to any cliffside.
According to the creator it can be attached to any cliff on any planet, asteroid, or moon. All the windows can be opened which can make for some incredible views depending on where you put it. It has 33 floors, 77 individual rooms, a medical area, maintenance ducts, lighting, artificial gravity, and a self-sustaining solar based power system. The Hiigaran Shipyard shows nostalgia has its place even among modern video games like Space Engineers.
The creator says the build is huge and likely game-breaking. It was based off the shipyard of the same name from the classic video game Home World 2. It also raises some interesting ideas of what other structures from other classic games could be built in this wonderful sandbox. Designed in a red and black aesthetic this station functions as a station designed for commanding planetary invasion while in the midst of battle. It shows that not all buildings have to be for good or productive purposes and builds like these can make for very interesting roleplays.
Especially when you look at the ship blueprints the creator has made in conjunction with this station. The creator gives the Eylon Station a bit of a backstory saying it was built in to serve as a trading post and headquarters for economic activity in deep space. The story goes on to say that black market activity is occurring in the lower parts of the ship. It does however give a great example of what market-based buildings could look like in space and can see a lot of use in multiplayer servers that have a lot of market trading going on.
By far the most interesting build on the list is the Draco City Ship. Hopefully the Draco City Ship blueprint sparks some cool ideas for other city-sized designs.

Global Achievements. This topic has been locked. Clippy View Profile View Posts. I just did the tutorial. Spent all afternoon making my first ship and would like to save it or at least export it so I can use it in other worlds, without having to place the components individually every time.
How can I do so? Showing 1 - 15 of 15 comments. Astasia View Profile View Posts. Ctrl-B while aiming at it. Also, to use your saved ship in a new game prss F10 to bring up the blueprints window. What about in non-creative mode?
How do I "paste" the blueprint?
Space Engineers – Blueprints
You can't "paste" in survival. You have to build a projector block, then assign it to project the blueprint. Projectors need to be the same size as what you are building, so a small ship projector to project a small ship blueprint. The bluepront shows up as a hologram of your ship and you have to weld all the bits. Originally posted by Astasia :.

Sorry if I'm just missing the obvious, but I can't figure out how to bring other people's blueprints into my game.
I have subscribed to them and I thought that would make them show up in my mod list in the settings of new worlds but they aren't there. If someone could help me out that would be appreciated - thanks much :. Showing 1 - 6 of 6 comments. From what I have found At that point you should be able to press f10, select the item you want to build, click the OK button to place it in your current clipboard, type CTRL-V to paste the item into your world, position as desired and left mouse click to finalize.
I am a noob myself so this is at least what allowed me to place goodies into my world. NOTE: when you attempt to paste a blueprint that has parts that are in MODS that you do not currently have active it will inform you that not all the parts are available how to figure out what mods you need I have no idea yet. Hope this helps a little. Thanks much Wholley.
I should have mentioned I also didn't see them in my F10 blueprint list and have restarted many times since subscribing. Maybe they were removed from the workshop or something. I'll try some more - thanks :.
I think its steam not sending them as I am still waiting for some. Looks like I had to force steam to send me the files, I verfied the files in the properties menu and steam suddenly sent me the additional mods and blueprints I had subscribed to. Last edited by Wholley Seasons ; 4 Nov, pm.
Thanks Wholley! I'm not sure I understand what "verified the files in the properties menu" means though lol. Appreciate it :.

After more requests for a personnel ship, I decided to go back to the beginning and overhaul the trident. This is now the Boeing of space Version 1. The Centipede Mech Vanilla. Is it creepy? Does it walk? Is it useful? Certainly not. But who cares? The Projector Blockintroduced in Update This block allows an image of the blueprinted ship to be projected and thus constructed in place.
When starting a ship from scratch, make sure to align the hologram to the projector and start adding blocks that are next to the projector or to blocks connected to the projector. Blocks that will be valid for construction will be highlighted. You can also check the info panel of the projector for any warnings. While it's simple enough to set up an ad hoc projector to build a fresh ship from a blueprint, projectors can also be extremely useful to include permanently into a ship or station design, as a reference for repairing damage.
The more sophisticated a ship is, or the more likely it is to become damaged, the more beneficial this is.
Here's a brief guide to making the most of it. We'll call this the "repair projector". Accessible in this case means having enough adjacent empty space that you could build another projector call it the "bootstrap projector" attached to it, along with whatever additional blocks would be needed to power, command, and secure the bootstrap projector, with minimal overlap of this assembly with the ship's structure.
Do not, however, physically include the bootstrap projector in your ship design. Don't worry about any of the repair projector's settings until the rest of your design is complete; configuring it should be the very last thing you do when you are completely satisfied. Now your ship's blueprint includes a projector that is preconfigured to project the ship, including a copy of itself that is preconfigured to project Now you're ready to build the ship for real in Survival Mode.
Warning Space Engineers deeply, or more specifically, recursively scans grids when making blueprints. It will also scan the blueprint loaded into a projector, recursively. So if you perform the steps above more than once your blueprint file size is getting larger. Before starting with step 1 above, it's best to clear the blueprints from the projector s on the ship. This way you'll only have one series of recursion happening in your blueprint. This will keep the file size optimally small. To build the ship from scratch for example, on a planetstart by building a "bootstrap projector" as mentioned earlier.
Knowing exactly how to shape this temporary assembly can be tricky, because it depends greatly on the shape of your ship, the location of the repair projector in relation to the rest of the ship especially power suppliesand the shape of your surroundings. Ultimately, you want to be able to power the bootstrap projector and project the blueprint such that:. Despite that last requirement, you actually don't want to use the bootstrap projector at all, except to build the repair projector.
As soon as your bootstrap assembly is in place and the blueprint is projected where you want it, build the repair projector and no other blocksthen immediately turn the bootstrap projector Off and the repair projector On.
The projection should reappear in exactly the same position and orientation as before. If it doesn't, then again your bootstrap projector was not oriented correctly, so destroy both projectors and try again.
You need to build the entire ship from the repair projection because otherwise any blocks you later rebuild from the repair projection will be "foreign", in the sense that any hotkeys assigned to them will be broken. Now build the ship against the blueprint as normal, but give preference to whatever parts will allow the ship to power its own repair projector as soon as possible.
As soon as that's the case, grind away all the blocks that were part of the bootstrap assembly, being extra careful not to damage the repair projector. Then proceed with the rest of the construction. When it's complete, switch the repair projector Off. It's wise to check all hotkey assignments in cockpits, flight seats, and so on, to be sure they linked up correctly with the newly-built blocks.
Hotkeys that control the repair projector may need to be reassigned presumably because the repair projector is the ship's only block that was technically built from a separate instance of the blueprintbut if you're lucky all other assignments will be intact. Enjoy your new ship. When enjoyment inevitably leads to some of it being destroyed, simply switch the repair projector back On. It's already loaded with the correct blueprint and alignment, so any blocks that need rebuilding will magically appear for you to weld back into place.
The projector's terminal screen will even helpfully tell you exactly how many blocks are missing. Jump to: navigationsearch.
